Grade 10 students at ICS had a great Passion Project week. Students brought interesting ideas and creativity, and worked on their projects to bring their creative ideas into reality.  Their passion projects ranged from painting, filmmaking and coding to robotics, dance and engineering. As the Hour of Code is reaching millions of students around the world this December, here at ICS, we are planning some awesome activities for ICS students in all grades during Computer Science Education Week (CSEd Week) 7-13 December. The ICS community once again participated in the 4th Annual Cancer Walk and Run. Students, parents, teachers and invited guests from the Cancer Society of Ethiopia and The Great Ethiopian Run participated in the walk/run.  The fun walk/run event was held in the spirit of Terry Fox. All proceeds from the event will go to pediatric/childhood cancer through the Mathiwos Wondu Ye-Ethiopia Cancer Society.

A vibrant and colorful International Day was celebrated at ICS. The event included a flag parade, variety of entertainment including cultural dance and musical performances and food booths from around the world.  Students, parents, teachers and the overall community were dressed up in their traditional dress, adding spectacular color to the event. 83 countries were represented in the flag parade, which showcased the rich and diverse international culture in ICS.   ICS would once again like to... ICS Addis celebrated “Meskel”, The Finding of the True Cross, with outstanding performances and enlightening ceremony. The Grade 3 play was a great performance explaining the details of the history of Meskel and the celebration of “Inku Tatash”- the Gift of Jewels. The stage was decorated with Meskel Daisies and the Meskel play included extraordinary costumes, exceptional musical direction and original songs! ASA's A few teething issues this week but generally it was a great start for ASAs even if the weather wasn’t accommodating! Nearly 100 students were crammed into the gym for U12 Soccer and U14 basketball Monday which was hard on the ears but fun was still had by all! Athletic News It was an amazing first week in all U19 and U14 sports this week. Great turn-outs, and fabulous attitudes and efforts have been very much apparent and our young eagles have started with a bang regardless of what the weather threw at them. U19 teams are being formulated for the international competitions ahead while the U14's are very much pre-season while we wait for the local schools in our league to open.
