It was a great event here this past weekend. ICS went home with lots of banners to add to our collection. ICS won the U14 boys, U14 girls, U16 girls, U19 boys and U19 girls categories. We were runner up to Bingham in the U16 boys category. We were also winners in the overall girls and overall boys categories, which means we were also the overall team champions. Congrats to the athletes. Thank you for all the support and help in making the event happen.

There certainly was a buzz of excitement and energy around the SEC as the entire Grade 10 class worked in small groups on a variety of projects embodying STEAM concepts. What’s STEAM? It was universal: children and adults alike were impressed with the Open House we held on Saturday 3 September for our new Makerspace/Robotics Lab. The whole morning there was a buzz of laughter and enthusiastic calls of “look at this!” People were moving around the room, checking out what other people were doing and showing off their own work. Kids were building robots and other contraptions, parents were helping them out and taking photos, teachers were demonstrating how to make things with... Read More

No pressure, just connect with other educators around the continent. Ryan Harwood is a tech coach & teacher in Ghana -... Read More

ICS students will present their TED-Talk to the community. The TED-Ed Club in ICS has been running since January. These clubs are officially endorsed and licensed by TED in NYC. The goal of this club is for students to try out a TED talk, record it and then send it to the TED offices in NYC. Some kids who do this actually get selected to go to NYC to do their talk. The students will do their talk on some outstanding topics ranging from increasing student voice, to celebrating learning... Read More
