All students in grades K-2 have selected a piece of their artwork to be displayed on 14 December. Please take the time to view this art exhibition before or after the holiday concert.

Happy holidays! Happy reading! From the staff of the ICS Libraries

Chill Out & Read 4!

“Summer slide” is a phrase given to the trend of children not reading during the summer holiday and the resulting regression of their reading skills. Although our upcoming holiday is a shorter time, the same thing can happen during this three-week break from school.  To prevent “winter slide” and help encourage our students to keep up with their reading during this time the ICS Elementary Library is again offering a reading challenge - “Chill Out & Read 4!”

All KG – grade 5 students are invited to set their own individual reading goals and to use a log to keep track of the books they read between now and 13 January. Materials will be distributed during library classes the week before the holiday. Prizes will be given to students who return their log to the library in January.

Please contact Librarian, Martha Langille, if you have any questions about this literacy initiative.

Make reading a fun part of your family holiday!  Happy holidays, all!

Library open hours over the holidays:

  • Saturday mornings (17, 24 and 31 December) between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (noon)
  • Closed on Saturday, 7 January 2017 for Ethiopian Christmas.
