Special Events

We have another GREAT year of events planned for 2016-17.  Come back and see what's happening.

Below is a list of a few of the great events from last year.

ES Summer Reading Challenge.  Go for the Gold!

With the 2016 Summer Olympics taking place in August, you are invited to “Go for the Gold—Read!” this summer holiday. Set a reading goal for yourself and keep track of the books you read on the log. See below.

Remember to read books that are just right for you. Use the five-finger rule! See our Newbery and Caldecott reading lists to choose some award-winning titles.

You may also want to borrow books or visit a public library if you  dnyourself near one. You can receive a visitor’s library card and also take part in lots of interesting and fun programs for kids.

Return your reading log to the elementary library when you return to ICS in August. We will award prizes and have a reading celebration early in September.

Have a terrific holiday everyone!

Happy reading!
